Because of the wide sandy beach and its depth at low tide, De Panne is naturally and inextricably linked with sand yachting.

In De Panne, the silhouette of the sand yacht figures in many ways, like the emblem of town, of a group of schools and of many local organizations.

Panimpex takes the use of the city logo one step further and engages its responsibility within the local community. We use the emblem not only for emotional reasons, but we also support the ambition of a group of young people who want to open sand yachting to the local youth. Therefore Panimpex decided to sponsor the sand yachting club “De Krab” in a permanent way.

“De Krab” is open to young people from 12 to 30 years old and possesses a fleet of class IV sand yachts. Throughout the whole year, the club organizes activities like the Junior Cup, an event which attracts young pilots from all over Europe.
